Well, I signed up for my 1st HALF MARATHON.
June 12, 2010

I am so nervous & I can't wait! That competitive side in me can't wait to see what this almost 30 year old body of mine can do! I can't wait to see how training goes & to hopefully see how my body changes from all the working out!

I am doing the half marathon also. I am so excited you are doing it! If you ever want to go run let me know. I am always up for a new running partner. You will do awesome!

that's so fun! you'll do great! do you have a running schedule you're following? hal higdon writes some good running books and has a great schedule to follow.

Wow, Erin! That's great! I'll be cheering you on from the East Coast, sitting on my couch eating ice cream ;)
I'm no expert, but here's a couple tips I learned the hard way:
1) if you are running 4 or more days/week, buy quality new running shoes like every 3-4 months. Support wears out quickly and ankle/knee injuries can happen.
2) cross train - don't run every day, bikes and ellipticals still train your heart/lungs to endure a 1/2 marathon without beating up your knees (hey we're not 20 anymore!)
You'll smoke them all with those legs of yours, just remember that running is fun!

I wanna! Right now I am training for a 5 k. (gotta start somewhere right?) I should be done in 2 weeks, then I am right back up training for a 10 k! (my first!)
